EVERY OTHER SATURDAY NIGHT (Dec. 8th and 22nd this month)

Lenny Wayne
7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Lenny Wayne was born and raised in the Bay Area. At the age of 16 he began performing in venues up and down the California coast.

In 1976 he joined the popular Bay Area 50's show group Daddy-O (a cast of thousands). In Daddy-O he was dubbed Lenny Linguini, the hip shaking crooner.

The Daddy-O show consisted of musical comedy skits with costume changes and classic renditions of songs from the 50's and 60's as well as parodies on topical political events of the times. Lenny Linguini, like the rest of the ensemble executed many quick costume changes portraying many different characters. It was an entertaining show that could be described as a combination of Shanana and Saturday Night Live.

These days Lenny Wayne performs his acoustic renditions of songs from an eclectic song list. He takes you on a musical journey from the 1950's to the present. His show features songs from Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bobby Darin, The Beatles, The Band, Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, Elton John, The Stones, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Jackson Brown, Chris Isac, Matt Nathanson, Adelle, Jason Maraz, John Mayer, Ray Montagne, and original songs by Lenny Wayne himself!

"Lenny Wayne's performances are straight from the heart with a whole lotta soul"

BeBop
7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Bebop is the renowned Santa Cruz/ bay area jazz combo here to bring us the most tasteful and stunning music available. A jazz quartet composed of members from age 13 to 18, Bebop has not only grasped the local jazz scene but have more seemingly taken control of it. Their raw, creative, and insightful music creates a fantastic show night after night. The quartet officially formed in September, 2011 after participating in Kuumbwa's summer jazz camp. Each member has his own unique story:

Aron Caceres, the bassist and vocalist of the band is the oldest member at age 18, and attends Cabrillo College as a music major along with additional focus in creative writing. Through a total of eight years of playing bass and more than fourteen years of learning a vast amount of styles in music, he has rightfully earned his place as one of the top players in the area. This summer he worked as an instructor in bass and strings at the jazz camp where he is a former student. He now does an excellent job of holding the groove of the band while adding sparkle, aggressiveness and flare from his instrument.

Grae Zimmerman, the drummer of the quartet at age 17, attends Soquel High School and through thousands of hours of practicing and performance, has set the standard of drumming so high that he is untouched. Grae comes from many backgrounds of music that have diversified him, his playing, and his mind to try new things with his playing style and technique. He is very well known to always keep both the audience and his troop of band mates on their feet to keep the show interesting. His constant sway of emotion and groove makes him the dream drummer.

Cameron Smith, the 14-year -old guitarist, currently attends Idawylde Arts Academy near Palm Springs. But when he is off school, he turns the trio into a very full- sounding quartet. He is a very wise-minded musician with excellent chops and technique, and is a very special asset to the group.

Lucas Hahn is the youngest member of BeBop—but do not let age fool you. Classically trained and having several years of jazz study on is back, Lucas is a dominant force on the keys. He contributes to the band in many ways including writing and arranging a good amount of the originals. He currently is enrolled at Georgiana Bruce Kirby Preparatory as a ninth grader. He studies with Rob Mahoney and has recently completed lessons with Grammy nominee artist, Taylor Eigstie.
